Is Livejournal useful?

For anything besides posting a journal, I mean.

Is Livejournal useful?
It's a great place to journal, keep in touch with friends, make new friends, take part in huge communities (ohnotheydidnt and customers_suck, for example--over 20,000 members each), find people with similar interests, and if you know where to look, a steaming cesspool of Internet drama and wankfests. I love the site!
Reply:I have used Livejournal to document my son's seizure activity

(ie dates, times, duration, etc.)
Reply:I've used several blog services from Wordpress to Livejournal to Blogger to Vox. Livejournal has a nice groups and communities system that helps for networking. The interface is pretty simple as well though it's probably the most limited of the services I use.

Paid LJ accounts are capable of more however. I used to have a paid account but dropped it recently since I'm focusing more on my wordpress blogs.
Reply:I find it a good way to keep in contact with my friends.
