Will livejournal ever be the most popular blogging outlet available? Not very likely, but it really never has been the most popular blogging spot out there. But do hundreds of thousands of people still blog and participate daily in livejournal? Yes. So, in that way it really isn't a dying medium.
Is livejournal a dying medium?
no it's not, it's thriving and growing bigger every day. The people that use it love it and continue to use it.
So no it's not dying.
