How do you make a livejournal private?

I need to make all of my livejournals private and I'm not sure how to do that (they're from eons ago). Can someone help me out? Thanks.

How do you make a livejournal private?
When you make an entry in your livejournal before you click "post to (whatever your name is)" beside it (to the left) you will see a drop down menu that says "show this post to" and click "friends" for just the people on your friends list to see ... or you can click "private" so only you will see the post. You will have to do this each time you post ... I don't know any other way. But this has worked for me really well! Hope this helps you! :)
