I have a free account.. and there are some nasty ad's on there. is there a way to remove it?
If I change to a paid account then I can go back to a free account and would i have those ads? I hope this make sense.

Maybe you're on the Plus+ account. They have ads. The free ones shouldn't have any on your journal. But on regular LJ pages, like home etc, there will be ads unless you're paid, probably.

If you copy someone's picture from livejournal, facebook, xanga, myspace, etc, can they know someone did that?
some sites use bandwith. not sure exactly how that works but if you download it can they know that someone is downloading their pictures onto the desktop?

Not unless they specifically catch you. Some sites can find out when others link to their pictures by checking for an unusually high number of downloads for a certain picture in the server logs. But as for downloading a picture to the desktop, it would be near impossible to find out unless you actually see the person do it. Also, since you are talking about sites like Facebook, you won't have access to the server logs anyway.

As for the link to an entry, im not too familiar with LiveJournal, but just go in and view your entry and on your address bar, whatever the link is or (permalink is) that's what you use to link to your entry.

You can either do (and I hope the html shows up here) %26lt;lj-cut%26gt; and then a link will show up on the entry that says "Read More" after you're done with it. Then you end with %26lt;/lj-cut%26gt; when you don't want the text to be behind the link.

I want to learn how to make blog layouts (like blogger, xaga, livejournal)?
I am very interrested in learning how to make layouts for webpages and blogs. A future in webdesigning is my aspiration. Could anyone please give me advice or a link that I can read all about designing blogging layouts. Like those people in createblog.com...how do you make those? I would really love any educated answer.

Techniques to creating custom layouts are specific to the blog you are using. What works with Blogger's templating system won't necessaily work with LiveJournal's. You need to look at the documentation for the blog you want to design the layout for.

Before messing with those other places, take time to learn the basics of HTML and CSS. You can create an html page on your computer using notepad and open it up with your webbrowser like internet explorer and you can practice there.

There should be spots for a picture you want, you know these by the links that end with jpg, png, gif, etc. Either design a picture with a program like Gimp or Photoshop, or get one from off of another site. Anytime you see a code like #000000, that's a color. You can change it by using number codes like the ones here, http://html-color-codes.com
If you see text that says bold, under line, size, etc. it should tell you what text it will change and where it will. The best advice I can give you is to experiment with different codings until you come up with something you like. Hope this helped!
